Advance Your Research: Apply for TRAJECTS Junior Research Stays 2025. (Fully Funded + Monthly allowance)

About the organization

The Junior Research Stays (JRS) aim to support junior researchers and professionals with at least a degree related to the topics of interest to TRAJECTS to undertake 3-month research stays at institutions within the TRAJECTS network. The complete list of TRAJECTS network host institutions offering JRS for 2025, as well as the research topics, can be found in Annex 3_TRAJECTS_JRS_Placement_Offers_List, attached to this call.

The activities carried out during the JRS must be relevant to transitions toward sustainability and climate change mitigation. The main research objectives and topics of TRAJECTS can be found in Annex 2_TRAJECTS_Research_Topics.

Funding includes:

  • Monthly allowances:
    – 1027 EUR for stays in the Global North.
    – 750 EUR for stays in South Africa.
    – 500 EUR for stays in the Global South.
  • Insurance contribution (health, accident, liability) up to 53 EUR.
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses up to 1500 EUR for a round trip. For travel between Latin America and South Africa (and vice versa), reimbursement can be up to 2000 EUR (the travel budget allocated to each funded individual will be determined based on the distance of the trip).

Required documents for application

  • Application form on the website.
  • CV in the language spoken in the host institution’s country.
  • Certificate of university studies.
  • Motivation letter in the language of the host institution.
  • If applicable: Proof of current affiliation with a TRAJECTS network partner. Researchers from non-partner institutions may apply for the stay but will not receive any points related to this criterion. For more information on the selection criteria, please refer to Annex 1_JRS_Call_For_Applications_2025.
  • If applicable: A self-declaration letter of belonging to an underrepresented group.
  • If applicable: Other requirements specified by the Host Institution. For more information on the specific requirements set by the Host Institution for the selected placement, please refer to Annex 3_TRAJECTS_JRS_Placement_Offers_List.
