About the Organization
The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is a global partnership between the United Nations Environment Programme and the financial sector. Established in 1992, UNEP FI works with financial institutions to develop innovative approaches that integrate environmental and social factors into financial decision-making. Key Responsibilities
As an intern for UNEP FI’s Regional Coordination and Membership team, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the management and coordination of UNEP FI’s regional networks and membership activities.
- Assisting with the planning and execution of events, webinars, and meetings, including stakeholder outreach and engagement.
- Conducting research on environmental finance trends and regional financial policies.
- Drafting reports, briefing documents, and communications for regional and global UNEP FI activities.
- Assisting in the creation and dissemination of newsletters and updates to UNEP FI’s members.
- Providing logistical and administrative support for membership engagement efforts across different regions.
Who Can Apply?
The UNEP FI Internship is open to students or recent graduates who have an academic background in environmental sciences, sustainable finance, international relations, or a related field. Applicants should have a strong interest in sustainability, financial systems, and environmental issues, with the ability to work in a multicultural team. Previous experience in finance, research, or event coordination is desirable but not essential. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
