Minimum Qualifications of the Successful IPSA

Min. Education requirements          

  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Public Administration, Business Administration, Learning, International Development, IT, Economics, Business, Communications, or a related field is required. OR
  • A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree

Min. years of relevant work experience   

  • A minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of experience in project management, strategic operations, event coordination or stakeholder engagement is required

Required skills            

  • Demonstrated experience in managing digital initiatives, communities or innovation functions 
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-level offsites, team events, and internal team communications
  • Experience in advanced use of office applications (MS Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) is required.

Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section      

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting digital products, such as newsletters, websites or software tools, is desirable.
  • Experience working with the UN or other large scale development organizations is desirable.

Required Language(s)            

  • Fluency in English is required. 
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish), or a local language, is advantageous.
