Key Responsibilities
FAO consultants take on a wide range of roles depending on the project and area of expertise. Typical responsibilities include:
- Providing technical expertise in areas such as agriculture, forestry, fisheries, food security, nutrition, and climate resilience.
- Supporting the design, implementation, and monitoring of FAO projects and programs.
- Conducting research, drafting reports, and preparing technical documents.
- Delivering capacity-building workshops and training sessions.
- Assisting in policy development, project evaluations, and stakeholder consultations.
Who Can Apply?
FAO welcomes applications from a diverse range of qualified professionals. Applicants should generally have:
- An advanced university degree relevant to FAO’s areas of work (agriculture, economics, environmental science, etc.).
- At least one to five years of relevant experience, depending on the level of consultancy.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English, French, or Spanish (knowledge of additional FAO official languages is a plus).
