Key Responsibilities
Consultants at AfDB are recruited for both short-term and long-term assignments across various departments. Depending on the project, responsibilities may include:
- Providing technical assistance and policy advice
- Supporting project design, implementation, and evaluation
- Conducting research and data analysis
- Assisting in capacity-building and institutional strengthening
- Drafting reports, briefs, and strategic documents
Consultants may work remotely, on-site at AfDB offices, or travel within Africa, depending on assignment needs.
Who Can Apply?
AfDB consultant roles are open to professionals from all member countries, including both African and non-African states. Candidates typically require:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant field (Economics, Engineering, Finance, Development Studies, etc.)
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Fluency in English or French (bilingual candidates are highly preferred)
- Prior experience with international organizations is an added advantage
