The Role

As an Economic Research Consultant, you will work on a range of quantitative research projects, managing and analyzing data that informs strategic policy in member countries. Your work will directly contribute to high-impact research publications, support the development of innovative ideas, and provide the data foundation for decisions that shape economies and improve lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage large datasets and maintain organized coding systems for research use.
  • Write code for data cleaning, merging, and quantitative analysis.
  • Visualize data in clear and effective tables and figures.
  • Conduct literature reviews to support the research framework.
  • Assist in preparing academic and policy-oriented publications.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members in a dynamic research environment.

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in research, data analysis, and data management.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one of the IDB’s official languages: Spanish, French, or Portuguese.

Eligibility Requirements:

Contract Details

  • Type: International Consultant
  • Work Schedule: Full-time
  • Duration: 12 months, with potential extension up to 36 months.
