Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing
The selected consultant will be responsible for assessing current communications practices, developing a strategic communications and partnerships visibility plan, strengthening digital and media presence, building systems and tools, and capacity-strengthening of communications staff.

- Conducting a communications landscape assessment: reviewing existing products, platforms, and workflows to identify gaps and align with IOM’s global communications framework.
- Crafting a 12–18 month communications strategy for resource mobilisation and partner visibility, aligned with IOM Nigeria’s strategic plan and global branding standards.
- Strengthening digital and national media presence: including developing a digital content calendar, producing flagship multimedia stories, and building relationships with national media outlets.
- Establishing communications systems: standard operating procedures, digital asset management, internal workflows, and content approval mechanisms.
- Capacity-building: training communications focal points and programme teams on storytelling, donor visibility, social media engagement, and other best practices.
