Role Overview

The Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting Officer (OIM & PR Officer) plays a key role in ensuring that WFP’s operations are supported by accurate, timely, and comprehensive data. This position bridges the gap between field operations, management, and external partners by providing insights that shape strategic and operational decisions. The officer will work closely with programme, logistics, monitoring and evaluation, and resource management teams to improve performance reporting and ensure accountability across WFP operations.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the OIM & PR Officer include:

  • Developing and maintaining systems and procedures for collecting and managing operational information.
  • Ensuring consistency and quality in data collection, analysis, and reporting across WFP’s programmes.
  • Producing situation reports, dashboards, and analytical products that provide an overview of WFP activities, achievements, and challenges.
  • Coordinating with various internal teams to prepare the Annual Country Report, ensuring it meets corporate standards and donor requirements.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators and assisting teams in understanding operational trends and performance metrics.
  • Facilitating collaboration with UN agencies, government counterparts, and humanitarian partners to ensure data consistency and information-sharing.
  • Supporting communication and advocacy efforts through evidence-based reporting and storytelling.
  • Providing guidance and capacity building to staff on data management and reporting tools.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this position, candidates should have:

  • An advanced university degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management, Journalism, Business Management, or a related field.
  • At least three years of professional experience in information management, humanitarian reporting, or data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable information.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably with the United Nations or other international organizations.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel, and familiarity with WFP’s corporate systems.
  • Fluency in English, and working knowledge of French is highly desirable due to the country’s operational context.
