The Role: Research Analyst
Based in the U.S. (Atlanta, Georgia) with possible remote work in approved cases, the Research Analyst reports to the Senior Director of Fundraising Operations. The annual salary range is $61,846 to $86,275, depending on experience, education, skills, and cost of labor in the job location.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting prospect research on current and potential major gift donors, including high net-worth individuals, mid-level donors, planned giving, corporations, and foundations.
- Evaluating data from various sources to determine a prospect’s financial capacity, philanthropic propensity, past giving behavior, and connection to CARE.
- Writing concise donor and prospect briefings for development teams and senior leadership.
- Conducting risk assessments and corporate due diligence for U.S. and international CARE offices that may lack their own risk management tools.
- Ensuring data entry and data integrity by inputting research findings into CRM systems and following operational processes.
- Supporting special projects and providing coverage for other research positions during high-volume periods.
What They’re Looking For
Required:
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in prospect research.
- Experience using CRM systems and prospect research software/tools such as iWave, LexisNexis, or equivalents.
- Strong written communication skills, clear and concise writing, and comfort with research methods, relational databases, and computers.
- High ethical standards and discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential information.
Preferred:
- At least 1+ years of experience in a large non-profit or higher-education fundraising environment.
- Experience using Salesforce and/or NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) is a plus.
