Key Responsibilities
Interns will support a variety of tasks that blend research, project support, communications, and stakeholder engagement. Core responsibilities include:
- Supporting project development with partners from business, civil society, and research institutions, particularly in the areas of green hydrogen and decarbonization.
- Assisting in building and managing relationships with private-sector stakeholders involved in the Green Hydrogen Business Alliance.
- Contributing to briefings and advisory work for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development on topics such as green hydrogen and Power-to-X technologies.
- Helping to maintain communication channels, including updates to the programme website, preparation of a weekly PtX press monitor, and organizing both internal and external events.
- Performing knowledge-management tasks and supporting the internal coordination of the programme.
- Conducting optional research on innovative technologies and evaluating energy needs in partner countries.
This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to contribute to global climate action while learning how international development projects are planned and implemented.
Candidate Profile
GIZ is looking for motivated students or recent graduates (within six months of completing studies) from fields such as political science, communications, economics, engineering, or energy-related studies. Successful candidates should bring:
- Strong communication and organizational skills, including experience working with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English.
- Genuine interest in renewable energy, green hydrogen and current developments in the global energy sector.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and demonstrate analytical as well as practical thinking skills.
- Previous internships or project-management experience are considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with international development cooperation and the role of the private sector in climate and energy transitions.
