What You’ll Do

On a day-to-day basis, Young Associates may be involved in:

  • Conducting background research on policy-relevant issues.
  • Drafting reports, briefing notes, and other analytical material.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners, supporting coordination and communications.
  • Assisting in the organisation of policy events, workshops, or ministerial meetings.

Each Associate is paired with a senior manager who serves as a mentor — supporting development of analytical skills, cross-cultural competence, and laying a solid foundation for possible postgraduate studies.

For this 2026–2028 round, candidates may join one of several OECD directorates or special bodies. Key directorates include:

Who Can Apply

To be eligible for the 2026–28 YAP round, applicants must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree obtained between 1 January 2025 and 1 September 2026. Applicants enrolled in or holding a Master’s/PhD are not eligible.
  • Be a national of an OECD member country.
  • Have a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.0/4.0.
  • Be fluent in English or French, and willing to become proficient in the other language.
  • Be available to start in Paris in September 2026 for the full two-year assignment.

Assets include relevant coursework or degrees, previous internships, research experience, analytical skills, and a clear vision for how the YAP supports future studies or career goals.

Selection Process & Deadlines

Applications open on 14 November 2025 and close on 14 December 2025 (23:59 CET). After the deadline, there will be screening and an online aptitude test. Shortlisted candidates will progress to video interviews and written assessments. Final selection is expected in March–April 2026, with a start date in Paris in September 2026.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Monthly base salary of €3,886, exempt from French income tax.
  • “Leaving allowance” of approximately €21,000 for the two-year appointment.
  • Additional benefits may include medical insurance, expatriation allowance, periodic home leave, installation allowance, and reimbursement for relocation expenses.
