Role Overview: What the Assistant Will Do
The Knowledge Management, Events, and Operations Assistant supports multiple functions across knowledge management, communications, event coordination, and administrative operations under the supervision of the UNU-INWEH Director.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and disseminating knowledge products, educational content, and communication materials, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Supporting public outreach and communications, including social media promotion of the institute’s activities, trainings, and events.
- Organizing and coordinating workshops, conferences, training sessions, and public engagement events, including agenda planning, participant liaison, and post-event documentation.
- Handling operational and administrative tasks such as maintaining electronic records, assisting with procurement, travel arrangements, and report preparation.
The role also includes performing additional duties assigned by the Director, providing exposure to a wide range of activities within an international research institute.
Qualifications and Desired Skills
Candidates may qualify with a high school diploma plus relevant experience or with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in fields such as environmental sciences, public health, communications, education, international development, business administration, or social sciences. At least two years of relevant experience is required, ideally in knowledge management, communications, or event coordination within international or academic environments.
Desired skills include:
- Experience in organizing in-person or virtual workshops, trainings, or conferences.
- Ability to develop content for education, training, or public awareness campaigns.
- Familiarity with managing online learning platforms or digital knowledge-sharing systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in multicultural environments; fluency in English is required.
- Technical proficiency in office and collaboration tools, with knowledge of content production or design tools as an advantage.

Contract and Application Details
