Who Can Apply?

The program is open to students and recent graduates who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students enrolled in a first university degree program (bachelor’s) who have completed at least one full academic year.
  • Students currently pursuing a postgraduate degree (master’s or higher).
  • Recent graduates who completed a degree within the past year.
  • Participants in postgraduate professional trainee programs that include internships.

Applicants must also demonstrate a clear interest in development, reproductive health, gender issues, or related fields. Proficiency in at least one UN working language, typically English or French, is required. Depending on the internship location, knowledge of an additional official UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish may be beneficial. Candidates should be adaptable and able to work with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds. Immediate relatives of current UNFPA staff are not eligible to apply.
