Key Responsibilities
The Research Analyst will report directly to the Senior Director of Fundraising Operations. The main focus of the position is prospect research, which involves identifying and evaluating individuals, corporations, foundations, and other potential supporters. The goal is to help CARE’s fundraising teams understand donor capacity, interests, and philanthropic intent.
Daily tasks include:
- Conducting wealth screenings and evaluating prospects’ giving history, financial background, and indicators of philanthropic interest.
- Preparing detailed prospect profiles, donor briefings, and research summaries to support fundraisers and senior leadership.
- Completing corporate due-diligence reports to assess potential risks and ensure partnerships align with CARE’s standards and values.
- Maintaining the accuracy of donor information in CARE’s CRM by updating research findings, tracking outreach updates, and assisting with workflow management.
- Supporting special research projects during busy cycles or as assigned by the Senior Director.
This work forms an essential part of CARE’s development strategy. By gathering and analyzing the right information, the Research Analyst equips fundraising teams with the insights they need to build successful engagement strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have at least an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience in prospect research or a related role. Experience with nonprofit fundraising tools, wealth-screening platforms, and CRM systems is highly desirable.
