What the Programme Offers
The GSP is a two-week immersive summer programme held annually at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. It provides graduate students with first-hand exposure to the work of the United Nations and the ecosystem of international organizations based in the city.
The programme blends high-level lectures, interactive sessions, group research, workshops, and institutional visits. Participants engage with UN officials, diplomats, researchers, and professionals from specialized agencies. Topics vary each year but always focus on key global issues.
The upcoming edition features the theme โAI and Emerging Technologies: Realities, Risks and Opportunities.โ Participants will explore how artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies are influencing global governance, human rights, peace and security, sustainable development, and international policy.
Beyond lectures, the programme emphasizes collaboration. Students are assigned to working groups where they research, analyze, and discuss real-world problems under UN guidance. This teamwork allows them to apply their academic knowledge to practical, global challenges.
