Role Overview: Research Analyst

The Research Analyst position plays a critical role within CARE’s Resource Development, Operations, Planning, and Analysis team. The successful candidate will support fundraising and development efforts by providing high-quality research, donor intelligence, and analytical insights. This role helps ensure that CARE’s fundraising strategies are informed, ethical, and data-driven.

Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth prospect research on individuals, foundations, and corporate donors, analyzing financial capacity and philanthropic interests, and preparing concise research briefs for fundraising teams and senior leadership. The Research Analyst will also contribute to risk assessments and corporate due diligence processes, supporting CARE offices that may not have in-house research capacity.

In addition, the role involves maintaining accurate donor records, ensuring data integrity in CRM systems, and supporting special research projects as required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights are essential for success.

Required Qualifications and Skills

CARE is seeking candidates with a strong research background and a commitment to ethical data use. Applicants should hold at least an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social sciences, international development, public policy, statistics, or a related field.

A minimum of three years of experience in prospect research, donor research, data analysis, or a similar research environment is required. Familiarity with donor databases, CRM systems, and professional research tools is highly desirable. Excellent written communication skills, discretion in handling confidential information, and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment are also key requirements.
