Role Overview
The Project Assistant role is classified under the General Service category at the G5 level and provides critical administrative and operational support to project managers and technical teams. The position plays a key role in ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and implementation of UNIDO’s technical cooperation programmes.
This is a locally recruited position based in Vienna and requires strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and project-related tasks, including:
Managing correspondence and communications, including drafting routine replies and organizing documentation
Providing administrative support such as scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and assisting with event organization
Supporting project implementation through monitoring activities, tracking deadlines, and maintaining project records
Preparing and processing administrative documents such as purchase requisitions, travel authorizations, and related paperwork
Maintaining accurate filing systems and databases to ensure efficient information management
Assisting with research activities and providing general support to project teams as required
The role requires attention to detail, strong time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Who Can Apply

A minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience, preferably in administrative or project support roles

Previous experience working in international or multicultural organizations, particularly within the UN system, will be an asset.
