Key Responsibilities
The consultant will work under the guidance of the Local2030 Coalition Secretariat Team Lead to support the “Enhancing the Role of Municipalities to Accelerate SDG Localization” project. Responsibilities include:
- Organizing and reporting on workshops, consultations, side events, peer-to-peer learning activities, and the Road to(s) processes, including mobilizing local stakeholders to participate.
- Collecting, systematizing, and documenting municipal solutions to inform policy and knowledge products that support local, regional, and global SDG implementation.
- Serving as a focal point for knowledge- and policy-related processes, tracking progress, facilitating stakeholder exchanges, and reporting challenges or bottlenecks.
- Supporting the communication and promotion of the project’s outcomes, managing online shared spaces, and producing content for the Local2030 website and social media.
- Contributing to daily project operations, including monitoring progress, coordinating logistics, supporting procurement and travel arrangements, and preparing achievement reports.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must hold an advanced degree in public affairs, political science, social sciences, development studies, or related fields. A minimum of two years of experience in project implementation, event organization, and advocacy or communications is required. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of SDG localization, with prior experience contributing to programs, strategic initiatives, policy development, or knowledge products.
Fluency in English is required, while fluency in Spanish or German is highly desirable. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage.
