Health organizations are willing to hire an experienced and trained person to join our Medical team as a full-time Ambulance Driver.

Your main goal for this job role will be transporting injured and seriously ill patients to the nearest medical care unit. As an Ambulance Driver, you should be working with your full capabilities to save the lives of our patients. You should also be assisting the ward boys in lifting the patient to the stretcher.

To be efficient in this job role, you should be having clean driving records and hold a valid driver’s license. Working under pressure and calming the frightened passengers is an essential part of this job position.

You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to keep calm under pressure. You should also have good defensive driving skills. Additionally, you should be able to make quick decisions in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Performing all the mechanical checks before starting the activity shift.
  • Driving the seriously ill and injured patients to the hospital.
  • Providing first aid care and administering oxygen if needed.
  • Working in collaboration with the Paramedic and emergency services team.
  • Checking the medical inventory and restocking them as and when required.
  • Changing the stretcher’s linen after every use.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the ambulance.
  • Disposing of the contaminated medical waste.
  • Maintaining daily entries in the driving log.
  • Reporting accidents to other enforcements such as police, firefighters, etc.
  • Ensuring the safety of the medical vehicle and reporting the faults at the earliest.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and GED.
  • Prior work experience working as an Ambulance Driver or a similar position in the Healthcare unit.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Professional certification in First Aid and CRP will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret radio transmission codes.
  • Knowledge of working with emergency vehicle operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of maps and navigation readings.
  • Outstanding decision-making abilities.
  • Good defensive driving skills.
  • Sound knowledge of GPS devices.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift the patients.
  • Ability to work for long periods of time and on weekends as well.
