Introduction

To address the scarcity of construction workers in Australia, the Australian government created the Construction Visa Subsidy Program. This construction program welcomes all people with abilities in the field in order to meet the demand for a trained workforce.

You need to build homes, roads, bridges, towers, buildings, etc. while you work in construction. Any applicant chosen by this program will receive funding in the amount of $10,000. It pays for all of their expenses in Australia, including travel and agent fees as well as visa fees.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Only CVSP employers will sponsor applicants for one of these visas (482, 494, or 186) as skilled workers.
  • The sponsored CVSP employee must have an office in Western and be constructing a building there.
  • Visas must be granted by the WA State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP). The following visa subclasses are 190 or 491.

How to Apply

First, you register yourself in the WA registration form. When registered, the WA service provider will publish all your details to the migrant employer register. When an employer needs a worker, WA service providers will give all your contact information to the migrant. The migrant employer contacts the worker and if you satisfy the employer he offers you a job.

Eligible employers can receive payments of up to $10,000 per skilled migrant at three milestone points:

  • Milestone 1 – $2,000
  • Milestone 2 – $4,000
  • Milestone 3 – $4,000

Eligible skilled migrants who apply for their visa offshore, will receive payments of up to $10,000 at two milestone points:

  • Milestone 1 – $5,000
  • Milestone 2 – $5,000

Eligible skilled migrants who are already onshore when the CVSP commences, will receive payments that have been reduced to reflect the lower costs incurred by onshore applicants:
