VISA

VISA is an acronym for Visitors Intend to Stay Abroad and it is a document that gives its holder the right to enter or leave the territory for which it was issued. The visa is usually put onto the person’s passport and it is subject to the permission of an immigration official at the time of actual entry.

A visa normally has conditions attached to it, for instance, the territory covered by the visa, period of stay, dates of validity, whether the visa is valid for more than one visit. These conditions vary according to the type of visa and the country from which it comes.

In some cases, a work visa works as a work permit. If someone entered a foreign country with a non-work visa and later intends to work there, they will now need a work permit these conditions, however vary from one country to another.
