Apply to be a UNV Specialists – COVID-19 response (Fully-funded)

With the aim of supporting the UN’s response to COVID-19, Sida finances the services of various organizations (UNDP, UN Women, UN RCO, WHO) through the UN volunteer program UNV. The initiative enables experienced specialists in statistics, information, and data management to contribute to the response in Mexico, Morocco, Mozambique, Pakistan, and Zambia.

Sida’s collaboration with UNV enables individuals in Sweden to work for the UN at the country level in the development and humanitarian efforts, thereby contributing to the global development goals and Agenda 2030 work.

By volunteering, United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programs contribute to peace and development worldwide. UNV has 150 employees and almost 7,000 UN volunteers in 130 countries, about 400 of whom are youth volunteers.

TERMS

UN Volunteers receive basic financial support so that they can live safely in the country in which they serve. The UN is also responsible for travel to and from the mission and some other costs. For more information on terms of employment, read more at UNV Conditions of Service.

The assignment is for one year and may be extended for another year.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The UNV services have no age limit and are aimed at people with at least three years of relevant experience.
Swedish citizen or person with a permanent residence permit
Master’s / Master’s degree
Applicants must speak at least one of UNV’s three working languages ​​- English, French, Spanish – fluently. Language requirements vary depending on which country the assignment refers to and more information is provided in each assignment description, Description of Assignment (DoA).

SELECTION PROCESS

Only those candidates that UNV deems relevant will be contacted to conduct a digital video interview.

Preliminary timetable for the selection and hiring process (please copy this information and save so you can follow)

Interviews will be held between July 27 and August 14.
Depart and start date as soon as possible. Note, however, that some services may need to be started remotely as a result of travel restrictions due to COVID-19
