Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Plan open-ended activities for preschool-aged children, while encouraging an environment of collaborative learning.
• Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and implementation of weekly lesson plans.

• Spark imagination, build self-esteem, and encourage children to enrich their everyday experiences using the environment as the third teacher.
• Document the children’s learning moments, successes, and challenges.

• Use technologies and optimize the Fueling Brains application for the teaching/learning process.
• Collaborate with parents and/or guardians to share and ensure the educational success of the child.
• Supervise the children at all times, ensuring a safe environment inside the classroom and during outdoor programming.
• Participate in internal and external learning activities to increase knowledge and awareness of Early Childhood Education research.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

What You Bring (Preferred Skills and Qualifications)

• Minimum two years experience working in a Reggio inspired practice / emergent curriculum
• Early Childhood Certification and Bachelor’s Degree
• Alberta Child care Certification Level 2 or higher
• Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire)
• Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, within past 6 months (may be obtained upon hire)
• Ability to lift a min. of 40 lbs especially when working with infants and toddlers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
• Previous supervisory experience is an asset

We are looking for an excellent TEAM PLAYER who absolutely LOVES CHILDREN!

We are looking for a Teacher to teach our full-day toddlers program (ages 19M – 3Y) at our Royal Oak location starting as soon as possible.

Experience working with young children is a must. Knowledge of Spanish will be an advantage but not a requirement. The candidate must have ECE level 1, 2 or 3 certification or a Bachelor of Education Degree and speak fluent English.

This position is permanent full time Monday to Friday 35-40 hours per week.
