Responsibilities:

• Assisting the driller in setting up and taking down drilling equipment and machinery
• Performing routine maintenance on drilling equipment and machinery
• Mixing drilling fluids and transferring them to the drilling site
• Monitoring drilling operations and reporting any abnormalities or malfunctions to the driller
• Assisting in the process of drilling boreholes and extracting samples
• Loading and unloading drilling equipment and materials
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols
• Keeping the drilling site clean and organized

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Experience working on a drilling rig is preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Ability to work long hours and in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials
• Must be willing to travel and work on remote job sites

Our fantastic new client is looking for 1-2 individuals who will join their team as a Driller’s Helper, working across sites in Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a strong work ethic. This is the perfect position for someone who is looking for field work and, when times are slower, is comfortable working within the shop.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

• Assisting drillers with drill operation and equipment maintenance
• Transporting, loading, and unloading equipment
• Lifting up to 50lbs
• Helping with digging procedures
• Cleaning up sites
• Travelling to and from sites

Education:

• High school diploma

Qualifications:

• Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Passable drug and alcohol test
• Basic knowledge of hand tools
• H2S, Ground Disturbance, WHMIS, CSO, First Aid are assets
• Mechanically inclined

Experience:

• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Geotechnical and environmental drilling

Skills:

• Able to effectively communicate
• Adaptable to an always changing work schedule
• Motivated and committed with a strong work ethic
• Value excellence, trust, and integrity
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Take direction and is motivated to learn and grow with the company

Base Salary: $26 – $28 per hour

• $50 daily per diem
• RRSP matching after 1 year of employment

• 8 to 12 hour days
• Overtime to be expected

Remote Work:

• This position is not remote. You are required to be on site.

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
