Grade:                       £57,382 (Grade E)

Contract terms:       Permanent, 37.5 hours a week

About Us

The Sigrid Rausing Trust is a grant-making foundation based in London. Founded in 1995, its purpose is to promote the values and principles of human rights, equality and the rule of law, and to preserve nature from further degradation. In pursuit of these goals, the Trust supports advocacy, creativity, research and scholarship – and has given away approximately £357 million to organisations all over the world.

Its current annual budget is approximately £40 million and it makes around 300 grants each year. The Trust is led by an active and prominent Board of Trustees and currently employs 24 staff.  More detail on the Trust’s work can be found on its website www.sigrid-rausing-trust.org

The new role of Grants Manager is part of the 8 person Operations team. We support the Trust’s core functions including finance, information technology, grants management, governance, compliance, facilities, health and safety, and human resources. The Grants Manager will have operational responsibility for the grants administration management systems and processes, including provision of high quality management information and impact reporting.

Your Key Responsibilities

Grants administration and management reporting

  • Operational responsibility for ensuring the development and provision of high quality grants administration and reporting systems and related processes;
  • Work collaboratively with programmes colleagues, Directors and Trustees to identify effective monitoring and reporting systems;
  • Support and advise the Trust on impact assessment; and
  • Act as the in-house lead on grant-making information management and provide advice and analysis of this data to the Trust.

 Compliance

  • Responsibility for developing and implementing compliance policies and control systems for the grant-making activities of the Trust;
  • Act as the lead in-house adviser on compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks, in the UK and internationally;
  • Responsibility for developing compliance related policies and guidance, designing and providing appropriate training and support to colleagues on the same; and
  • Undertake other areas of compliance related research, policy development and training, as delegated by the Chief Operating Officer (e.g. GDPR, employment, etc).   About You Knowledge, qualifications and experience
  • Seven or more years of experience in grant making, particularly in grants administration management, including responsibility for management information systems and management reporting
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with UK statutory and regulatory frameworks relevant to charitable trusts, with experience of international grant-making desirable
  • Understanding and experience of monitoring and impact reporting
  • Able to write well, excellent numeracy and computer literacy, including familiarity with information databases, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint (or similar intranet), and website content

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards
  • Strong planning and project management skills, including the ability to advocate for and lead on organisational change
  • Professional credibility and confidence to work as the in-house lead within own fields of knowledge, provide advice and guidance to colleagues at all levels
  • Additional language skills would be desirable
