Program Overview
Qatar Airways is hiring an experienced Tax and Compliance Officer at their Ahmedabad location. You will be responsible for effective tax planning to reduce tax risks, ensuring full compliance with the tax laws in India, where Qatar Airways operation exists, keeping a track of Tax Treaties to be entered, ensuring timely payment of tax liabilities and required filing and also other regulatory laws while maintaining confidentiality of QR financial information.

The complete details of this job are as follows:
What will you be doing:
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements of outstations, identifies the drives of financials receivables and payables of TAX, GST etc.
Ensure optimal delivery of compliance obligations (both direct and indirect taxes) at destination countries where Qatar Airways operates by closely coordinating the compliance activities with internal and external stakeholders at respective Station.
Ensure payment of tax related liabilities in accordance with the statutory deadlines through advance planning and effective liaison with the internal & external stakeholders at respective Station.
Ensure Qatar Airways is compliant with the tax regulations including the deductions and treatment of any withholding tax.
Ensure full compliance with the foreign exchange regulations and employee related taxes through effective monitoring and reporting of compliance activities.

Assist in preparing advice for Finance Management on tax planning measures through analysis and research on contemporary changes in tax regulations.
Assist in negotiating and entering into tax treaties with different countries through the Qatar Ministry of Finance by developing research based tax position papers to adequately manage our tax exposure.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement our sourcing strategy to appoint tax advisors and statutory auditors for our branches in the destination countries to meet the tax compliance requirements.
Research the tax law and related practices adopted in the respective tax jurisdiction and propose methods to ensure tax optimization for QR Group.
Maintain the confidentiality of company information and ensure minimum disclosure while meeting the legal requirements.

Qualifications for this Job:
You should have minimum of 4 years specialist of job-related experience required.
Certifications in Accounting / Commerce / Finance.
Experience in internal tax including direct and indirect tax.
Experience in Big4 or large corporate with international tax exposure.
User level experience in any ERP
Professional accounting certificate i.e. CA/ICWA/CS/ACCA
Command of English language
Proficient with spread sheets
Should be able to analyze and explain financial accounts/Management accounts to finance and non-finance audiences

Knowledge of Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Taxes, GST/VAT, Generally Accepted Accounting Standards/ International Financial Reporting Standards
Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members
