Eligibilities

Applicants must have the following:

  • National of the assignment country.
  • Advanced university degree in any area connected to the organization’s activities, including gender studies, social sciences, nutrition, agriculture, business administration, human rights, and economics.
  • One year of relevant experience in gender analysis and gender mainstreaming in a variety of rural livelihoods, resilience, and development programs, such as nutrition and/or agriculture, rural development with a focus on gender mainstreaming, gender-sensitive value chains, and gender and development, human rights, social issues, political affairs, or humanitarian affairs.
  • Proficient level C working understanding of English, the official language used by the FAO to communicate with the nation.
  • Proficient level C working knowledge of the native languages (Pashto and Dari).
  • Experience working in more than one place or field, especially in field employment.
  • The breadth and value of expertise in management and program creation, particularly with regard to gender-related issues.
  • Understanding of operational rules, program/project management processes, and technical program goals and functions, ideally those established by the FAO or the UN.
  • Possibility of successfully managing a big, multi-stakeholder project with outcomes.
  • Ability to handle finances, deal with political, technical, and people management difficulties, and work well with all project participants and personnel.
  • knowledge of developing projects and programs from conception through implementation.
  • Experience with setting up workshops or meetings with stakeholders.
  • Ability to see issues and take prompt, practical action to fix them using tact, initiative, and good judgment.
  • Expertise in coordinating and liaising with the necessary parties, including its breadth and relevance.
  • Outstanding report-writing abilities.
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work productively with a range of stakeholders to accomplish shared objectives, are essential.
  • Prior UN experience is seen as a major benefit.
