Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, the IT Project Associate will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support for project implementation, including evaluating technology, planning and monitoring IT implementation strategies, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of technical products and practices.
  2. Collaborate with project technical teams, monitor deliveries, analyze technical products, and ensure alignment with best technology practices, international technical cooperation rules, and national laws for sustainable product development.
  3. Support planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities of the projects in coordination with the Project Manager. This includes daily follow-up with project partners and donors to ensure smooth technical implementation of project activities.
  4. Assist in the timely preparation and submission of progress reports, donor reports, project reviews, and other required project reports. Organize project review meetings.
  5. Participate in the selection processes for Letters of Agreement (LoAs) and undertake activities related to LoA monitoring.
  6. Perform other duties within their functional profile as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and the organization.

Institutional Arrangement:

The IT Project Management Associate will work under the overall guidance and supervision of the Project Manager and Coordinator of the Justice and Governance for Development Unit.

Required Skills and Experience:

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Secondary education (Complete Education at High School Level) is required.
  • A university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in administration, public policy, international relations, computer science, engineering, law, or related areas will be considered favorably but is not a requirement.

Minimum Years of Relevant Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience (with secondary education) or 4 years of relevant experience (with a Bachelor’s degree) in project management, preferably with hands-on experience in implementing technology projects.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using information technology.
  • Knowledge of office packages.

Desired Skills, in addition to the Competencies section:

  • Post-graduation or certificate in project management, preferably with a focus on technology project implementation.
  • Experience with agile methodology in project management will be considered.
  • Experience in the areas of justice, human rights, public security, or related subjects will be considered.
  • Experience in requirements negotiation for innovation projects will be considered.

Required Languages:

  • Fluency in Portuguese is required.
  • Working knowledge of English is an asset.
