UNDP Maldives is recruiting a Programme Assistant to support the work of Economist Unit. The Programme Assistant supports the Unit operations by performing a variety of standard administrative and programme support processes ensuring high quality and accuracy of work.
The Programme Assistant promotes a client, quality and results-oriented approach. The Programme Assistant works in close collaboration with the programme and projects staff and the Operations team to ensure consistent service delivery, broadly covering the areas listed below.

Duties and Responsibilities
4.1 Provide administrative and logistical support to the formulation and management of programmes
- Provide administrative support in the preparation of programme work plans, budgets, and proposals on programme implementation arrangements, including tracking the delivery of funds;
- Provide technical guidance to the Economist Unit on the routine implementation of projects. Assist in drawing up the specifications and evaluation criteria for procurement requests for the units across multiple projects
- Support the programme presence office and liaise with other UN agencies, government counterparts and project implementing partners on routine delivery and reporting of programme supported activities;
- Provide administrative support to the executing agencies / responsible parties on routine delivery and reporting of programme supported activities and finances;
- Assemble briefing materials and prepare power-point and other presentations for the programme unit.
- Provide administrative support for the audit of programmes/ projects and support implementation of audit recommendations;
- Identify sources and gather and compile data and information for the preparation of documents, guidelines, speeches and position papers, in collaboration with the Programme team.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Completed Secondary education with 6 years of relevant experience OR completed Bachelors in a related field with a minimumof 3 years of experience.
Experience:
- Completion of Secondary education with 6 years of relevant experience, or 3 years relevant work experience in administration or programme support service with completed bachelor’s degree.
Required Skills:

- Experience working in procurement, logistics and administration.
- Good working knowledge of information technology with experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems
- Experience with ERP financials, preferably PeopleSoft, Oracle, ATLAS, is an asset.
- Experience in working at the country level with UN or another International Organisation is an asset
- Experience in makingnew and useful ideas and to adapt with complex concepts and challenges convention purposefully.
- Experience in completing tasks while exercising good judgement, meeting goals and quality criteriafor delivery of products and services.
- Experience in identifying and executing opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Has worked effectively with diverse groupsof professionals towards common goals.
Desired skills in addition to the competencies coveredin the competencies section:
- Working level knowledge or experience in managing projects with development partners
Required Language(s):
- Proficiency in English and Dhivehi
Professional Certificates:
- Any professional certificates related to area of work would be highly regarded.
“Remuneration starting at MVR 18,230.18 (excluding 8.33% pension) as per remuneration scale depending on qualifications and experience.”
