A Carpenter Helper is a tradesperson who assists carpenters in the construction, maintenance, and repair of structures and furniture. The Carpenter Helper provides support to the Carpenter in various tasks such as cutting and measuring materials, assembling fixtures, removing and replacing fixtures, and painting materials.

They also keep the work area clean and organized and help to ensure the safety of the job site. This position requires an individual who is physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy objects. Knowledge of basic hand and power tools is also necessary.

Carpenter Helper Role Purpose

The purpose of a Carpenter Helper is to provide assistance to qualified Carpenters in the construction, maintenance and repair of wooden structures. The role involves supporting the Carpenter in completing tasks such as measuring and cutting materials, assembling pieces, fastening them together and finishing surfaces.

The Carpenter Helper must also be prepared to work in difficult conditions and locations, including outside in all weathers. They must also be able to adhere to health and safety guidelines and demonstrate good customer service.

Carpenter Helper Role

Carpenter Helper assists Carpenters in the construction and maintenance of wooden structures in both residential and commercial settings. They may help with installation, repair, and finishing of wooden fixtures, furniture, and other items. Responsibilities may include measuring, cutting, and installing trim, cabinetry, and other items. They may also help with loading, unloading, and transporting materials.

Carpenter Helper Duties

• Cutting and joining materials according to the instructions of the carpenter
• Assisting in the installation of doors, windows, flooring, and other fixtures
• Preparing and measuring materials before installation
• Mixing and carrying supplies to and from the worksite
• Assisting with repairs and maintenance of carpentry tools and equipment
• Cleaning up the worksite after each job

• Able to work with basic carpentry tools
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Physical strength and good stamina
• Ability to follow instructions

Are you ready to grow your career in carpentry and construction? We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Carpenter Helpers. As a Carpenter Helper, you will have the opportunity to work on large, long-term multifamily projects focused on exterior restorations. You will assist our skilled Carpenters while gaining valuable hands-on experience and growing your skills in the industry.

What’s the job?

You will be installing windows, patio doors, and exterior doors in multifamily homes and assisting our Carpenters while you grow your skills. We have large long term multifamily projects where we are doing exterior restorations. Some of the tasks/skills include but aren’t limited to:

• Window/Door installation
• Framing and decay repair
• Caulking and foaming
• Installing interior and exterior trim
• Sheathing and papering
• Be comfortable working off of scaffolding
• Demonstrate knowledge of building envelope details

Qualifications we’re looking for from candidates:

• 2+ years of carpentry/construction experience
• Knowledge of hand tools
• Punctual and reliable
• Wanting to learn
