Health Care Aide (LMIA) assist clients who are unable to care for themselves or perform daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, dressing, and bathing. They may also perform basic medical services such as checking vital signs. They may provide long-term care or intermittent care. Some specialize in geriatric care or pediatric home health.
Angler Recruitment Agency has an opening for a home health aide to join our growing team. You will be tasked with helping patients with personal hygiene, minor medical needs, housekeeping, and other daily needs as required by the patient.
To excel in this role you should have an interest in health care and the ability to work with limited supervision keeping the patient’s needs as your top priority.
Health Care Aide (LMIA) Responsibilities:
- Helping patients with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and other daily tasks.
- Performing basic health care services for patients, including checking vital signs or administering prescription medication.
- Helping with general light housekeeping.
- Making transportation arrangements as needed.
- Working with a nurse, personal care aide, CNA, nurse aide, nursing assistant, and other caregivers and in-home care professionals.
- Observing and reporting on patient’s condition.
- Keeping up with in-service training.
Health Care Aide (LMIA) Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to provide references.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Have good personal hygiene.
- Able to do light housekeeping.

We have been appointed by a healthcare provider company to find suitable candidates for their Health Care Aide positions (3 positions).The employer also provides an LMIA job offer for the qualified candidates. Duties
- Supply and empty bed pans;
- Bathe, dress and groom patients;
- Serve meal trays,
- Feed or assist in feeding of patients and assist patients with menu selection;
- Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients;
- Shave patients prior to operations;
- Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse;
- Transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher for treatment or surgery;
- Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms.
Employment requirements
- Provincial Registration with the BC Care Aide Registry OR
- Being student or graduated from a recognized school
- The job is for a retirement facility
