Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Strategy: Lead and manage programs focused on food security, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture. Oversee the development and implementation of strategies to achieve FAO’s goals.
- Project Management: Supervise teams in the implementation of agricultural development projects. Ensure project activities are carried out efficiently and effectively, meeting timelines and budgets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, international organizations, and the private sector.
- Policy and Advisory Services: Provide expert policy advice to governments and stakeholders, helping them shape food security policies and strategies at the national and regional levels.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the progress of projects, ensuring they align with FAO’s overall objectives and that results are well documented and communicated.
Who Can Apply?
- Educational Background: A Master’s degree in agriculture, economics, international development, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in project management, food security, sustainable agriculture, or related fields.
- Skills: Strong leadership, management, and communication skills. The ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage large-scale projects is essential.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of other UN languages (French, Spanish) is an asset.
