Responsibilities:

  • Implement information programs to publicize priority issues and major events, including drafting information strategies, coordinating efforts, monitoring progress, and analyzing outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze current events, public opinion, and press coverage, identify issues and trends, and provide advice on appropriate action and responses.
  • Produce or oversee the production of various types of information communications products (e.g., press kits, press releases, speeches, audio-visual materials) by proposing topics, conducting research, determining mediums and target audiences, preparing production plans, writing drafts, obtaining clearances, coordinating design approval, and managing distribution.
  • Prepare multimedia content based on official UN documentation and other sources, assisting in developing and generating news, and distributing multimedia feature materials.
  • Identify and propose information opportunities, activities, and approaches for promoting Hindi News content, taking into account the situation and target audience.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of UN News performance and performance of Hindi News content to optimize audience-focused communications.
  • Utilize digital tools, software, and partnerships to innovate and enhance distribution practices across languages and formats, ensuring broader and engaged audiences for key messages and organizational priorities.
  • Monitor performance of Hindi News content across platforms and enhance distribution via UN News app, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, Mailchimp, and provide reports based on analytics and social media metrics.
  • Prepare reports that align with the reporting requirements of the UN News platforms.
  • Foster professional relationships with key constituencies.
  • Act as a focal point on specific issues, monitoring and reporting on developments, and responding to inquiries.
  • Participate in selecting the information transmitted to key constituencies.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Education:

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in public information, journalism, international relations, public relations, or a related area.
  • Experience creating multimedia content in Hindi and English, along with fluency in written English and Hindi.
  • Experience in project management and reporting on extra-budgetary projects.
  • Experience in compiling web analyticsand social media metrics is desirable.
  • Experience in improving search engine optimization, distribution, partnerships, and promotion is desirable.
  • Experience in leveraging existing distribution channels for Hindi News content to regional and diaspora audiences and optimizing presence on multiple platforms for improved impact is desirable.
  • Experience in creating web graphics and using innovative digital tools, including immersive website applications like Tableau and PowerBI, is desirable.

Languages:

  • Fluency in both English and Hindi is required.
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
