1. Communications Intern – New York or remote
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and distribution of internal communications materials, such as reports, bulletins, emails, blog articles and announcements, with a focus on excellent text drafting and report writing.
- Assist in analysis related to the progress of the People for 2030 strategy. Support the development of content for the team’s internal communication platforms, including the company intranet and collaboration tools.
- Manage the People Champion Community online through the use of MS Teams, SharePoint and Viva Engage
- Collaborate with team members to identify and gather relevant content, success stories, and updates.
- Create and design engaging visuals for internal communications that resonate with different audiences.

Required Skills and Experience
Academic qualifications:
- Preferred educational background in Communications and/ or Human Resources, Social Sciences or related areas,
- Student enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent),
- If a candidate has completed a university degree and is selected, the commencement of the internship should take place within one year of graduation.
Experience:
- Previous experience in communications or report writing in a private/ public sector setting,
- Demonstrated experience of thinking outside of the box in communication campaigns
- Realization of desired benefits due to a communication campaign
- Experience in HR, Talent Management and/or Organizational Development is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English language, with a demonstrated ability in drafting text and completing reports,
- Proficiency in creating visually appealing content using design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, and Illustrator,
- Familiarity with communication tools and platforms,
- Basic understanding of internal communication principles,
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams.
Language:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Working knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset.
Internship Conditions:
- UNDP internship programme does not provide a salary or remuneration for the internship.
- UNDP offers a modest monthly stipend to help cover basic daily expenses related to the internship, such as meals and transportation at the duty station.
- All other expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring Government, or institution.
- UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship.
- The intern is responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed.
- Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship.
- The intern must provide proof of enrollment in a health insurance plan.
- Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.

2. Intern, Communications and Outreach

DUTIES:
The intern will assist in the following duties and responsibilities:

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (newly graduated or in the final year of study) or pursuing a Master’s degree in related field in Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences or related field; or
- Currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree; or
- Have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent studies.
Field of study: communications, journalism, marketing, international relations, political science or equivalent. (preferred but not required)
IT skills:
- Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools;
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator or any other data visualization tools.
- Basic knowledge of video and website editing.
Language skills:
- Fluent in English- both written and spoken in addition to native proficiency in Thai required;
- Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.
INTERNSHIP CONDITIONS
- UNDP will not pay interns for internship but will provide a stipend in the amount of THB 8,302.50 monthly in accordance with the provisions of the UNDP internship policy; all other expenses connected with it will be borne by me or my sponsoring Government or institution;
- UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
- Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship;
- Interns must provide proof of enrolment in health insurance plan;
- Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity;
- Interns are expected to work full time but flexibility is allowed for education programmes;
- Interns need to obtain financing for subsistence and make own arrangements for internship

3. Social Media Intern (Remote)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, ideate and develop social media products that are compelling, relevant and catchy in different formats, including videos, cards, infographics and interactive content to be used across all UNDP digital channels in three languages.
- Support the creation of posts in English for all global UNDP social media platforms, focusing on multimedia stories, campaigns and UN International Days;
- Provide assistance in researching, curating and presenting stories, images and videos in UNDP’s digital platforms, including Trello boards.
- Assist in producing language versions of videos and graphics;
- Support the team in the production of weekly, monthly and yearly analytics reports;
- Assist in the work and coordination with influencers and partners.

(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school Programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree Programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent);
(c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
Experience:
Social media management and content production are an asset. Proficient in using tools like Adobe Suite, Canva or others for multimedia content production.
Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English;
French and Spanish an asset.
Availability:
Must be available at least four days a week
