Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are the main responsibilities and duties associated with the position, in addition to any other related tasks as required by the office:

  1. Supervision and Operational Management:
  • Supervise the delivery of services and transactions in specialized operational areas such as human resources management, procurement, and/or information technology management.
  • Manage a team of specialized support staff or take a lead role in administering efficient and effective services.
  • Ensure work products and processes comply with procedures, guidelines, and policies.
  • Identify and propose process improvements for team performance.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices and continuous learning within the team.
  1. Advisory Role:
  • Share technical knowledge on core service lines by briefing clients, staff, and partners on relevant procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Support consistency in approach and compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  1. Administration:
  • Undertake delegated certifications and approvals according to the applicable accountability framework.
  • Manage the delivery of processes, standard transactions, services, and work products aligned with business plans and adhering to rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Conduct training in the respective area of business operations support for clients and staff.
  • Identify opportunities for improved service line processes and procedures to enhance client service, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Essential: Completion of secondary education.
  • Training and certification in one or more UN operational service areas or systems.
  • Desirable: University degree in business administration or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible work experience relevant to the position in administrative support services and transactions in the operational support area, including finance, human resources, procurement, and information technology management support.
  • Desirable: Experience in administrative support positions within WHO or another United Nations agency. Experience in Oracle-based systems or other enterprise resource planning systems.

Language Requirements:

  • Essential: English – Level 3 (Expert)
  • Essential: French – Level 2 (Intermediate)

Information Technology (IT) and Other Skills:

  • Proficiency in computers and office software packages.
  • Experience with web-based management systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and cloud management enterprise systems such as Workday.

The remuneration for this position includes an annual base salary starting at USD 26,638 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
