What is the World Summit Award?

The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global initiative that recognizes and promotes digital innovation with a focus on improving society. It is a non-profit organization that aims to select and showcase the world’s best digital content and innovative applications in various categories.

The WSA Young Innovators are a special recognition for young people under 26 years of age, who use ICTs to take action on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

The WSA Young Innovators call is eligible for digital solutions that:

• Are developed by young innovators under the age of 26
• Offer digital solutions to any of the UN Sustainable Development Goals
• Deliver content-rich digital solutions to the user including individuals, businesses, and organisations
• Have a strong digital component: websites, apps, SMS-based solutions, IoT, wearables, etc.
• Are market-ready or already launched on the market – no ideas or concepts are eligible

From 2020 on, EYA (European Youth Award) will become part of WSA. The Pan-European initiative highlighting and encouraging purpose-driven digital entrepreneurship will be merged into the WSA as WSA European Young Innovators.
2 become 1 – WSA and EYA merge to foster social sustainability impact and offer support and wider opportunities for young digital entrepreneurs globally.

The WSA Young Innovators are a special recognition for young people under 26 years of age, who use ICTs to take action on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The submitted solutions have to include:

• development by young innovators under the age of 26 (born on or after January 1, 1997)
• digital impact solutions
• market-ready or already launched on the market

What is the WSA Young Innovators 2023 Timeline?

• April 01 – November 10, 2023: WSA call for nominations
• November / December 2023: Jury Process
• April 2024: WSA Global Congress and Winners Ceremony
