Program Overview
A Truck Driver is a professional responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of all sorts of goods, whether food or livestock. Trucking companies often use regional routes so that these truckers will be driving daily across many different areas of the country.
We are looking for an experienced Truck Driver to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Truck Driver
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
- Trucking school diploma
- Valid truck driving licence

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for almost 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton and the surrounding area. We are currently looking to hire an EXPERIENCED CLASS 1 AND CLASS 3 DRIVERS to join our Transportation Division to help with our large work volumes for the 2023 road construction season.
We offer a competitive wage (negotiated based on experience) with benefits.
The successful candidate’s primary duties and requirements will include, but are not limited to:
- Completing pre-trip and preventative maintenance on your assigned vehicle
- Continuously monitor all fluid levels, vehicle operation and handling, and report and defects to your supervisor
- Operating a tractor-trailer combo to load and transport heavy equipment from jobsite-to-jobsite.
- Adhere to the Motor Vehicle Transport Act 1987 Commercial Vehicle Driver’s Hours of Service Regulation
- Complete accurate digital administrative documentation such as timesheets, safety forms, and log books
- Experience working with small hand tools is an asset
- Able to work long hours
- Possess a valid clean class 1 or 3 drivers license and reliable transportation

Preference will be given to:
- Class 1 drivers with End Dump experience
- Class 3 drivers with Asphalt Hauling Experience with pavers
