Responsibilities:

Assisting the driller in setting up and taking down drilling equipment and machinery
Performing routine maintenance on drilling equipment and machinery
Mixing drilling fluids and transferring them to the drilling site
Monitoring drilling operations and reporting any abnormalities or malfunctions to the driller
Assisting in the process of drilling boreholes and extracting samples
Loading and unloading drilling equipment and materials
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols
Keeping the drilling site clean and organized

Requirements:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Experience working on a drilling rig is preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Ability to work long hours and in various weather conditions
Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials
Must be willing to travel and work on remote job sites

Our fantastic new client is looking for 1-2 individuals who will join their team as a Driller’s Helper, working across sites in Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a strong work ethic. This is the perfect position for someone who is looking for field work and, when times are slower, is comfortable working within the shop.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

Assisting drillers with drill operation and equipment maintenance
Transporting, loading, and unloading equipment
Lifting up to 50lbs
Helping with digging procedures
Cleaning up sites
Travelling to and from sites

Education:

High school diploma

Qualifications:

Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Passable drug and alcohol test
Basic knowledge of hand tools
H2S, Ground Disturbance, WHMIS, CSO, First Aid are assets
Mechanically inclined

Experience:

Basic mechanical knowledge
Geotechnical and environmental drilling

Skills:

Able to effectively communicate
Adaptable to an always changing work schedule
Motivated and committed with a strong work ethic
Value excellence, trust, and integrity
Able to work effectively as part of a team
Take direction and is motivated to learn and grow with the company

Base Salary: $26 – $28 per hour

$50 daily per diem
RRSP matching after 1 year of employment

Work Hours:

8 to 12 hour days
Overtime to be expected

Remote Work:

This position is not remote. You are required to be on site.
