WAAW Scholarship For African Female Students IAQ2s Now Available (Application Deadline: November 17, 2023)

Program Overview

African female college students can pursue their education in a STEM-related field thanks to the WAAW Scholarship. With this scholarship, you are free to concentrate on attaining your academic goal while volunteering to give back to your community and support the STEM Outreach Chapter at their university in promoting the involvement of women in STEM.

We are searching for academics that demonstrate a need, are passionate about, and motivated to change their community. WAAW Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria for the WAAW Scholarship

  • Female students of African origin, living and studying in Africa.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
  • Studying STEM-related courses in a University or college in Africa.
  • Presently a first or second year student or a third-year student for a 5-year course in a University.
  • Ability to demonstrate financial need
  • Excellent Academic Record.
  • Proven leadership, volunteering, and community service
  • Below the age of 32 years.

What is the WAAW Scholarship Program?

The WAAW Scholarship Program supports young African women pursuing STEM education at  undergraduate level.

Which courses are accepted?

Only STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) related courses are accepted and will be considered for the scholarship offer.

How many references are required?

2 references. One MUST be written by a professor from your institution of study and the other from an academic supervisor/advisor or mentor to be emailed by your referee to us.

What are the required documents to be submitted?

  1. 2 Reference Letter to be submitted by your referees.
  2. 1 signed and sealed copy of your current transcript from your University.
  3. 1 scanned copy of your school ID card.

What are some tips for writing a strong personal statement for the WAAW Foundation scholarship?

When writing your personal statement, it is important to be honest and genuine. Share your story and why you are passionate about STEM. Be sure to highlight your academic achievements, leadership skills, and community service. You can also talk about the challenges you have faced and how you have overcome them.
