01 The Job You’re an experienced event management professional aspiring to use your gifts and talents to make a positive impact on the world by eradicating poverty and transforming the lives of children, families and communities. Join World Vision USA as a Sr. Event Manager where you will create best-in-class in-person, virtual, and hybrid donor conferences and signature events for prospective and current donors by providing opportunities for personal experiences that educate, change hearts, promote long-term partnerships with World Vision, and result in increased revenue for the organization.

 And your expertise added to our team will be a difference maker. Be an integral contributor on a team as well as oversee the work of project team(s) through the life-cycle of the event from planning through implementation of complex and brand-building signature events.  Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word, and sign.

02 What success looks like (1) You effectively consult and collaborate with clients and internal partners to design highly specialized signature event experiences that are informed by segment insights that align with donor interests and designed to elevate the World Vision brand by targeting key donors and meeting critical fundraising goals.

  (2) You seamlessly oversee multiple events simultaneously from design and planning to day-of production and post event reporting and follow-up.  This includes leading stakeholder meetings, executive reviews, speaker selection, multi-media components, writing compelling scripts, coaching and guiding high-level speakers and delivering on an engaging event experience that will be impactful for the audience.

(3)  Your work will also include things like facility selection, vendor contract negotiations, event registration, food and beverage selection, audio visual service, speaker/entertainment, transportation, event budgeting, volunteer management and tracking of key performance indicators. 

(4) You strive towards continuous improvement by consistently bringing innovative ideas and concepts to your event management work that improves the donor experience and informs future event strategies. (5) And because of your knowledge and expertise you will be able to provide training and mentorship to other Event Managers on topics like program development and execution, new technologies for operating and producing virtual and hybrid events as well as new or updated event procedures.

05 You bring A Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of equivalent work experience. In addition to education or equivalent work experience, we need you to have 6 years of work experience that includes successful large-scale event planning or project management. It goes without saying, but the roots of success in this role will be in your ability to be highly relational and detail orientated. We know you can grow and flourish if you’re planted there.

06 Additional skills we’re interested inYour deep passion to serve children, families, and communities in greatest need around the world through designing, producing and orchestrating key signature events that contribute to generating both connection and lasting impact for our donors in order to promote transformation in their lives and connection to the work of World Vision. You are a confident, experienced, passionate leader with an extensive background in creating and producing these large-scale events. 

You do this with ease because of your ability to balance the needs and interests of various stakeholders while prioritizing tasks in the middle of changing priorities.  You are an analytical thinker and this allows you to have a logical approach when addressing issues or problems and manage them proactively to a good end.  At the end of an event you immediately look for ways to improve processes that will allow us to be even more productive and efficient the next time.  You can maintain a positive outlook in the middle of pressure and respond with grace and ease when challenges arise. 

You look for ways to reach optimal outcomes that gain the acceptance of all parties, even if everyone has a different idea in mind.  Your communication skills allow you to discern the best way forward no matter the level of the individual you are talking to and provide solutions that show you were listening to their thoughts and desires.  You know events and how to manage them by breaking them down into phases and measurable milestones, determining what people and resources are needed and how much its going to cost and you understand what it takes to combine the right level of marketing and creativity that will appeal to the intended audience. 

And you are always looking for ways to be better – so you are eager to learn and acquire the necessary technical knowledge to accomplish your client’s needs effectively and then share that knowledge with the team.
