Program Overview
Petroleum technicians are responsible for a wide range of tasks related to the extraction, processing, and sale of petroleum products. They commonly work on drilling rigs, production platforms, and other industrial sites where these activities take place.
Petroleum technicians may be tasked with performing basic maintenance duties (such as checking equipment for signs of wear or repair), but they’re also expected to provide more advanced services when needed. This might include troubleshooting problems with equipment or processes, identifying sources of leaks or spills, etc.

Petroleum Technician Job Duties
Petroleum technicians have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Monitoring and recording fluid levels, temperatures, pressures, and other data to ensure that all equipment is running properly
- Troubleshooting problems with machinery or equipment, such as pumps or compressors, to determine their cause and recommend solutions
- Inspecting facilities to ensure they are safe, clean, and functioning properly
- Performing tests on samples of oil or other substances to ensure compliance with government regulations
- Monitoring computerized instruments that provide real-time information about machinery performance, such as temperature and pressure gauges
- Installing new equipment or machinery in production sites, including pipelines and storage tanks
- Performing routine maintenance on oil rigs and other equipment to ensure that they continue to run smoothly
- Maintaining inventory levels of supplies and materials used in drilling, such as pipes and welding rods
- Repairing equipment or machinery after accidents or malfunctions, or performing routine maintenance to prevent them from occurring

7-Eleven is immediately hiring a Certified Petroleum Mechanic I. This position is responsible for the maintenance, and/or repair, of a variety of physical plant and specialized equipment in an assigned group of 7-Eleven stores within a geographic area. This position would also perform on the job training and assesment of new Techs. Service calls are initiated from the store via 7Help work orders to appropriate technician. Position reports to the Area Facilities Manager.
*** Candidate must currently be certified as a Petroleum Mechanic I***

Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Perform on the job training and assesment of new Techs
- Perform follow up assesments and training of new Techs after they have been in the field for a given time
- All duties and responsibilities of a Tech 1 and at least 75% proficiency in Tech II duties and responsibilities listed below
- Responds to work orders for a wide variety of in-store equipment focusing on fuel related calls (ex. printers, displays card readers, hanging hardware, sensors, ATG equipment, etc.).
