It is a testament to the UK’s enduring dedication to the Commonwealth, bringing outstanding talents from various backgrounds to become future leaders and innovators in their home countries. These scholarships are designed to make UK education accessible to those who might not have the means otherwise.
Eligibility:
Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are open to candidates from eligible low and middle-income Commonwealth countries. These scholarships support full-time taught Master’s programs at UK universities, aligning with the six CSC development themes.
Application Process:
If you are interested in Commonwealth Master’s scholarships for the 2024/25 academic year, the application window is now open. Please note that the application deadline is 17:00 BST (16:00 GMT) on October 17, 2023. Successful applicants will commence their studies in the UK in September/October 2024. Applications to the CSC must be made using the CSC’s online application system.
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) exclusively accepts applications and supporting documents through the online application system. To ensure a smooth application process, applicants are strongly encouraged to complete and submit their applications well in advance, as the system tends to experience high traffic in the days leading up to the deadline.
Additionally, in addition to applying to the CSC, applicants must also submit their applications to a nominating agency. There are two categories of nominating agencies for Master’s scholarships:
- National nominating agencies – this is the main route of application
- Selected non-governmental organisations and charitable bodies
Nominating agencies play the role of recommending scholarship candidates to the CSC for evaluation. It’s important to note that the CSC does not accept individual applications for these scholarships; instead, candidates must be nominated by the relevant agencies.
