Their guests love to eat and with all the amazing food on board their ships who can blame them! As a Commis for Carnival you will be assisting cooks when preparing meals, ensuring that all food production recipes and presentation specifications are followed, as per company standard, to produce food of consistent quality and cost.
Commis are also responsible for following recipes and specification to ensure quality and consistency of the meals they produce as well as ensuring the highest level of sanitation is maintained, all in keeping with company and USPH standards.

Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain the quality and presentation of all food served and the expedition thereof.
- Follow all USPH and HACCP procedures in all food production and galley maintenance.
- Assist the cook in directing and leading the trainees.
- Serve food on the service lines and present it to company specifications.
- Follow all recipes to company specifications and avoid wastage.
- Communicate and cooperate with all other team members, to ensure a smooth food delivery system.
- Ensure garbage separation standards are being followed.
- Perform all other tasks assigned by senior management.
- Advise Superiors on different or inferior products being received.
- Maintain Hospitality standards at all times towards Crew and Guests.

Bar Server Trainee
Carnival are also looking for dedicated individuals to join them on board as Bar Servers!
If you are an upbeat, charismatic soul who can’t stop smiling, Carnival would like to hear from you. When considering a role with them, ask yourself: Do I enjoy providing top-notch customer service? Am I fun and engaging? Am I a people person?
Position Functions:
- Arrive at work at the specified time in a clean, company-specified uniform. Follow the Carnival Lookbook at all times.
- Comply with fun time procedures at all times.
- Bar servers must have a comprehensive knowledge of the ingredients and prices of all drinks on the menu as well as the daily specials and any promotional sale of the day?
- Ensure that the waiter station is set up according to the Carnival standard as well as fully stocked with ice, fruit trays and glasses.
- Responsible to achieve assigned revenue targets.
- Collect fruit trays from Buffet pantry on daily basis.
- Ensure that tables are kept clean and that menus, no smoking signs (where applicable)/ ashtrays are clean and in place
- Scrutinize the bar area to ensure all furniture is in good condition. Report any deficiency to the Bar Manager or Assistant bar manager.
- Aware of any special promotions and advise guests accordingly.
- Aware of all activities outlined in the Carnival Capers and inform guests accordingly.
- Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Hotel / Bar / Club in the bar.
- Fluency in conversational English.
- Must be physically strong and able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs to sustain physically challenging work.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on their own.
- Previous customer service and sales experience.

Assistant Cooks

A big part of our guests’ vacation is the incredible range of restaurants and dining venues onboard. The Culinary Arts team serves as the backbone of that operation.
Part of a team of hardworking Cooks and Chefs – Assistant Cooks are learning the ropes in the vast Culinary operation on board.
