Family Physicians are medical practitioners who take a personalized approach to healthcare, offering holistic medical supervision. They differ from specialists in that they provide a full range of healthcare services, treat all genders and age groups, and build long-term patient relationships.
Ash Medical is looking for attentive, conscientious candidates with training in diverse medical areas for the position of family doctor. Family doctors are expected to treat a wide range of medical conditions, develop long-term, personal relationships with their patients, produce individualized healthcare programs based on patient historical data, and offer continuous support and health management advice. You should be proactive in building relationships and recommend external specialists when patients require treatment outside of your medical purview.
Family Physicians should take a vested interest in a patient’s well-being. This is achieved by demonstrating good listening skills, showing empathy and understanding, and communicating clearly and effectively.
Family Physician Responsibilities:
- Develop personal relationships with patients.
- Create patient-specific health programs that make use of historical data.
- Monitor and adapt individualized health programs over time.
- Schedule and administer follow-up examinations.
- Make use of patient health data in medical analyses.
- Offer comprehensive wellness exams.
- Administering vaccinations.
- Perform medical operations.
- Recommending specialists for treatment outside of their capacity.
- Educating patients in health management and disease prevention.
- Offer birthing services.
Family Physician Requirements:
- Medical degree.
- Completion of a 3-year family practice residency.
- Training in medical areas such as pediatrics, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, internal medicine, gynecology, and community medicine.
- Pass an American Board of Specialties examination to acquire board certification in family medicine.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Caring, attentive nature.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent quantitative skills.

Looking for an opportunity to practice medicine with a supportive team and flexible options? Our clinic is seeking a physician to join us as part of our Family Health Organization (FHO) with two different paths to choose from:
Option 1: Learn About FHO by Locumming First Take your time to learn all about the benefits of FHO before making the full commitment. Join our team as a locum physician to experience the support, benefits, and collaboration opportunities that come with being part of an FHO. We will work with you to help you transition to a full-time FHO physician when you are ready.
Option 2: Start with a Guaranteed Income of $25,000 Monthly. Jumpstart your FHO career and take on a patient roster of 1300 patients right away. As part of our FHO, you will enjoy a guaranteed income of $25,000 per month, flexible work hours, shared after-hours coverage, and more. Or start your own practice and enjoy the guarantee of a minumum of $17,000 monthly income in the Income Stablization Program offered by the Ministry of health in Ontario.
