The Therapy of Fashion: One Garment, Many Hands.
This Haus of Stone workshop will be a hands on workshop in collaboration with Tendai Angela Jambgwa (certified yoga instructor). The session looks to explore craftsmanship with one’s hands as a form of therapy, creative expression & emotional release. This session will be a fusion of yoga; traditional mbira music and hand sewing.
The New Philosophy Of fashion
The idea of this collaborative Open Studio is between Guyllelujah and two performing Artists from Nyakasikana a Tamba Africa Circus initiative that seeks to empower young women and girls with social and creative skills, developmental opportunities and to deconstruct as well as address issues of social concern affecting women through social circus and performance arts. The core idea is to apply an understanding of sustainable garment construction methods to ideas and messages of the Performance Arts with their diverse perspectives. It will be a sensory influenced experience with sound designed by Taona Nyandoro. We hope to explore the conversation in a practical and accessible way.
