The Hansen Leadership Institute is a program organized by the University of San Diego’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES). It is designed to provide international students with leadership training, cultural exchange, and academic learning opportunities.

The Hansen Leadership Institute is a three-week summer program that brings together young leaders from around the world to engage in seminars, workshops, and experiential learning activities. The program focuses on developing leadership skills, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and promoting social responsibility.

Participants in the Hansen Leadership Institute have the opportunity to interact with faculty members, industry professionals, and fellow students. They engage in discussions on leadership theories, ethical decision-making, and global issues. The program also includes site visits to organizations and cultural excursions to explore the local community and its unique characteristics.

The Hansen Leadership Institute is offering a fellowship programme funded by the Fred J. Hansen Foundation for the year 2024 in the USA to citizens all over the globe.

This leadership programme is crafted for individuals who demonstrate leadership potential and aspire to contribute to the development of nations, communities, or regions worldwide.

The institute provides training in effective and visionary leadership, imparting skills essential for articulate communication and public speaking.

The fully funded scholarship programme aims to nurture individuals who can contribute to the development of peaceful and vibrant communities, with an emphasis on reconciliation and restorative justice.

The application process is completely online and the deadline to fill up the forms for the US applicants is March 15, 2024 while as for International applicants, it is January 15, 2024.

The duration of the programme is July 01, 2024, to July 23, 2024.

The program provides sufficient benefits such as, International airfare is included, all program expenses being covered, and rooms and boarding facilities being provided.

The eligibility criteria for US citizens is that they should be upper-division undergraduates with a focus on international relations, international economic development, diplomacy, or related disciplines, who are aged between 20 and 25 at the program’s start and exhibit demonstrated leadership skills in community, nation, or region, along with relevant experience working with NGOs or the community.

The eligibility criteria for international citizens is that they should have the same eligibility criteria as US students, a recommendation from an academic advisor for English proficiency verification, and a valid international passport. A US Visa is mandatory. Preference will be given to students who have not previously visited the US.
