Program Overview

As a Software Support Technician, you are responsible for solving software issues, diagnosing related system failures, and writing resolution reports. You will also assist the system engineer in the optimization, development, and configuration of networks.

The Software Support Technician provides assistance, advice, and solutions for computer software problems (e.g., operating systems, application malfunctions), investigating problems, identifying their root causes, and suggesting solutions and/or pathways to them.

Software Support Technician Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Handle software-related requests for assistance (problems)
  • Troubleshoot software and identify root causes of software problems
  • Analyze software related issues and propose solutions
  • Fix software problems and test (verify) solutions prior to implementing them
  • Obtain and log customer feedback for the purpose of process improvement
  • Document software support activities thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner
  • Make decisions quickly, sometimes with limited information
  • Review work log, customer feedback periodically with supervisor and other analysts and technicians, to identify and act on opportunities for improvement

The technician will be providing remote technical support to our customers for a print management software called PaperCut. PaperCut tracks and controls printing. The technician’s duties will include:

· Providing support to end users via telephone and/or remote session

· Providing timely and rapid responses to Service Request tickets

· Developing and maintaining system documentation and procedures

· Completing and providing status reports

· Remaining current in certifications and technologies related to the position

· Performing other duties as assigned

Required Skills

· Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and one (1) year of work experience OR

· Associates degree in an appropriate field and two (2) years of work experience OR

· High School degree in an appropriate field and four (4) years of work experience

· All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution

· Experience with Windows Server OS

· Excellent customer service skills

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work well under limited time constraints Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

· Proficiency in organizational skills

· Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment

Desired Skills

· Knowledge of Print Management solutions (PaperCut, Equitrac, Pharos, PCounter, etc)

· Knowledge in configuring and operating Multifunction Devices (MFD)

· Knowledge of Mac OS and Linux OS

· Knowledge of Windows Print Server configuration

· Knowledge of TCP/IP and issues related to TCP/IP connectivity

· Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, and Organizational Units

· Knowledge of Network and System Administration

· Knowledge of virtualization technologies

· Microsoft and/or CompTIA Certifications

· Able to communicate in Spanish fluently (verbal and written)’

Work Location:

  • One location (Canada)

Work Remotely

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
